Scientists at the center are promoting a special issue of the journal 'IEEE Computational Intelligence'

Researchers Alberto Bugarín and José María Alonso are coordinating the publication of a special issue on Data-to-Text (D2T) technologies.

The journal IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, a publication indexed in the 1st Quartile of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) impact index published each year by the Institute for Scientific Information - Thomson Reuters, recently launched a special issue focused on Data-to-Text technologies, an edition coordinated by CiTIUS researchers Alberto Bugarín and Jose María Alonso (associate editor of the journal), in collaboration with the Professor at the University of Aberdeen Ehud Reiter, one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject.

'Translating' numerical data into text descriptions

The Data-to-Text research line aims to develop methodologies and techniques that allow the automatic construction of reports, narratives and other natural-language texts, using various artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.

This is an area in which the contributions made by the centre’s researchers stand out, particularly in areas related to the development and application of techniques based on fuzzy logic; thanks to these, the scientists have achieved significant advances in improving the language-generation process employed by these technologies.
