CiTIUS organizes the Summer School of the European project MENELAOSᴺᵀ
*Over the coming week, the center will host the “MENELAOSᴺᵀ Midterm Summer School (MSS) 2021”, an event that will be held in a mixed format (on‑site and online) within the framework of the European MSCA ITN MENELAOSᴺᵀ project. The meeting will be broadcast live from Santiago de Compostela and will take place from 20 to 24 September.*
The Singular Research Centre in Intelligent Technologies of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (CiTIUS) will host next week the MENELAOSᴺᵀ Midterm Summer School (MSS) 2021, an event organised by the USC research centre that will be held in a mixed format (on‑site and online) within the framework of the European Training Network for PhD Students MENELAOSᴺᵀ, a project in which CiTIUS participates as a partner and which is funded by the prestigious “Horizon 2020” programme under an MSCA grant (“Marie Curie Action Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Action”).
The Summer School will start next Monday and is organised by CiTIUS. Held entirely in English, it features a programme of talks and presentations showcasing the latest advances and developments of the MENELAOSᴺᵀ project, which focuses on multimodal and multisensor data fusion.
All sessions will take place from 20 to 24 September 2021, a week of joint work addressing different research areas, such as new paradigms of compressed sensing (a signal‑processing technique to efficiently acquire and reconstruct a signal), the use of deep learning at all levels, the processing of signals from sensors, and high‑level information mining. The MENELAOSᴺᵀ European Training Network, funded by the European Commission through a Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Action (MSCA), addresses key societal challenges by applying new technologies for multimodal and multisensor data fusion, in order to optimally combine the information provided by different sensors (*in situ/*remote, optical/non‑optical, etc.), at different scales, with different resolutions and different levels of reliability.
MENELAOSᴺᵀ brings together 7 partners from 4 different countries (Germany, Spain, Romania and Turkey), including research institutions, universities and companies, as well as several organisations from different parts of Europe. Together, all these actors form a network with extensive experience in the fields of remote sensing, sensor manufacturing and signal processing.
