CiTIUS Summer Fellowships 2023

CiTIUS summer grants are back! If you are studying a degree related to Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Technologies, this is of interest to you: we offer 14 new grants for your first research stay. Send your application until next Thursday, June 8!

For the nine consecutive year, the CiTIUS (Singular Research Center in Intelligent Technologies of the USC) is punctual to its appointment with the annual call for its Summer Scholarships, which in 2023 offers 14 grants to undergraduate students who wish to have their first research experience in the field of Intelligent Technologies (IT). The grants will finance these stays during the month of July, with the aim that the beneficiaries can develop a research project within the framework of the lines of the CITIUS Scientific Programs.

The selected group of students will have a first contact with research in areas such as Computer Vision, Intelligent systems and environments, Trustworthy AI, Machine learning and reasoning, Robotics, High performance computing, Virtual and augmented reality, Electronic design of intelligent devices, Data and process science and engineering or Language technologies. In addition, during the period of the grant, students will be able to participate in the training activities carried out at CiTIUS, which include attending courses, lectures by internationally renowned researchers and presentations of the latest IT tools.

The grants are endowed with 750 € gross plus a grant for students not residing in Santiago de Compostela to finance transportation costs, with a maximum amount of up to 300 € for students from outside Galicia, and up to 80 € for students residing in other municipalities of the Community.

Applications

Applicants must submit the required documentation through the Electronic Headquarters of the University of Santiago de Compostela, using the application form available at this link, which should be sent to the Service of Calls and Human Resources of R&D until Thursday, June 8 at 23:59 h (CEST). The following documentation must be attached to the application form:

  • Copy of the academic certification of the degree or equivalent qualification, stating the grades obtained and the average grade in base 10. In the case of studies abroad in a language other than English, the certification must be submitted with the official translation into Spanish or Galician.
  • Copy of the proof of enrollment corresponding to the academic year 2022/2023, or supporting document issued by the corresponding university.
  • Curriculum vitae of the applicant.
  • Letter of motivation, including the expression of interest in obtaining the scholarship.

Evaluation

Applications will be ranked according to the following criteria, with a maximum score of 10 points:

  • Applicant's academic record (70% of the score obtained).
  • Curriculum vitae submitted: publications, awards, and training related to the purpose of the scholarships, among other aspects, will be taken into account (20% of the evaluation obtained). Expression of interest of the applicants, formulated in the cover letter (10% of the obtained valuation).
