A decade of Inside The lab: the doors to technology-sector companies reopen.
Inside the Lab is back, the annual event presenting CiTIUS’s scientific results to the business world and public administration.
In this tenth event (aimed mainly at companies and other organizations) you will find a selection of technologies in an advanced state of development, ready to be transferred to industry and society.
12 demonstrators and 2 spin-offs
During the event various technological demonstrators developed at the center will be presented, such as PISTIS, a conversational assistant that builds trustworthy intelligent systems, prioritizing model reliability and communication with users in areas such as European AI regulation and financial education.
Another of the highlighted projects is iRead4Skills, a multilingual system with educational purposes that allows classifying a text according to its complexity, identifying the factors that influence its difficulty and offering advice to adapt it.
The demonstrator WatchTowers monitors and analyses digital media, news and social networks in real time. It integrates AI and NLP to detect trends, analyze sentiment and explore large volumes of information.
On the other hand, we will observe how Artificial Intelligence learns from people in Virtual Reality. This session explores different interaction systems with molecular simulations and the different ways in which AI agents learn to perform molecular interactions in virtual reality.
The demonstrator XOGAMOS incorporates vision and language AI models that it uses in cognitive stimulation activities, analyzing their potential and possible risks in day centers and recreational settings for people with special needs.
In the social field, AffeX 2.0 and CogniGames seek to care for emotional and cognitive well-being through games. They create responsible monitoring to understand how people interact and to support cognitive stimulation through adapted interactive games.
Innovation in sustainable technologies will be showcased through energHius, the most recent spin-off of CITIUS (a center co-financed by the European Union through the Galicia FEDER Programme 2021-2027). Recently emerged from the center's research, this new tech-based company uses Nanostart® technology to harvest small amounts of ambient energy, thus enabling a new generation of ultra-small, battery-free Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Finally, the event will also feature the longest-standing CiTIUS spin-off (Situm), which reveals how the Leditia and Xesta projects strengthen innovation in areas such as digital twins, geospatial intelligence, operational traceability, advanced data visualization and intelligent process management. We also present two new innovative projects for the logistics and industrial sectors funded by GAIN, Xunta de Galicia, under the Nexos 2025 programme and co-financed by the EU through European Funds.
Finally, we will have a demonstrator in which the public can discover the three challenges posed by the manipulation of deformable objects for robotic arms: perceiving their shape by touch, achieving a stable two-handed grasp, and collaborating with people in the use of complex tools.

The event will be held in person at the CiTIUS facilities next Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00 and requires prior registration. The visit lasts approximately two hours and can be made at any time during the opening period.
