The future of eRisk

eRisk constitutes now a reference forum in the study and detection of risk on the Internet. The five previous editions have shown how the Internet may be used to address personal risks. We have contributed to creating tools and datasets, identifying and improving risk detection and estimation techniques, and applying and defining evaluation metrics for them. However, it would be a mistake to continue our efforts without reflecting on the lessons learned from each of the challenges and editions, integrating them into future design decisions. This chapter captures this process of reflection and decision-making about eRisk in the future, detailing the strategic lines defined and their practical implications in future editions of eRisk.
