Víctor José Gallego Fontenla
I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). Additionally, I serve as a collaborating researcher at the Research Centre on Intelligent Technologies (CiTIUS) of the USC.
Since 2018, my research career has resulted in the publication of 8 scientific papers, primarily focused on the field of process mining. Among these, two are publications in international journals indexed in the first quartile (Q1) of the JCR. The remaining 6 papers are contributions to national and international conferences.
I have actively participated in more than 15 regional, national, and international research projects, including an ERC Advanced Grant, and I have collaborated in two national research networks. These projects have addressed critical issues such as the detection and management of process changes within the healthcare and e-learning sectors. A tangible outcome of this collaborative work is the two software registrations obtained, of which I am a co-author.
My international experience includes one year as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Tartu (Estonia). There, my work focused on applying process change detection methods and machine learning techniques to identify shifts in user behavior within the context of process mining and Business Process Management (BPM).
My current research interests focus on process improvement through the application of machine learning and deep learning to increase efficiency, primarily through predictive tasks.
