Doctoral Meeting: 'Next Generation Edge and Federation Large-scale Data Analytics: the scalability and security concerns'

One of the significant technological shift of next-generation computing systems is in Big Data (BD) platforms. This trend leads to a wide range of technological enhancements within the data science referred to as BDaaS. BD warehousing and processing scalability and security are common concerns among practitioners. Apache Hadoop, the BD landmark, has become a large-scale data operating system. The new features provide Hadoop 3.x with the maturity and applicability to serve different markets efficiently.

In this seminar, we will introduce OPERA (an OPportunistic and Elastic Resource Allocation) for the benefits of BD frameworks. OPERA aims at efficiently and securely utilizing Hadoop latest release as a BD federation and edge data analytics environment. We will highlight some use cases on the employment of the containerization, high-throughput computing, and IoT technologies. Moreover, we will discuss various insights into the latest ongoing developments and open challenges in this domain.
