
Summer Course: 'Artificial Intelligence and Personalized and Precision Medicine: Medicine with Name and Last Name'
The Summer Course is organized by the USC-Plexus Chair in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Precision Personalized Medicine (CAME&IA). This course is co-financed by the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function) and the European Union with NextGenerationEU funds, in the ENIA Chair project (Order ETD/1180/2022, of November 25) within the framework of the European Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
This course will delve into the application of artificial intelligence in personalized and precision medicine. It will explore how these technologies are transforming healthcare, from more accurate diagnoses to therapies tailored to the characteristics of each patient. Furthermore, it will address the ethical, legal, social, and economic challenges of using AI in health.
The program covers a wide range of topics related to artificial intelligence applied to precision personalized medicine, including:
- Fundamentals of artificial intelligence and knowledge-based systems.
- Limitations and inherent risks of AI.
- Personalized and precision medicine (PPM), including drug design and personalized therapies.
- Use of AI to optimize the treatment of cancer patients.
- Needs of healthcare professionals in the era of AI.
- Roundtable on the practical implementation of AI in clinical settings.
Academic Recognition
- The course lasts for 28 hours of instruction and grants 2 ECTS credits.
- Any enrolled person who attends 80% of the course's instructional hours will receive a diploma stating their full name, identification number, course title, dates, and number of instructional hours.

About the Chair
The USC-Plexus Chair in AI in Precision Personalized Medicine (CAME&IA) was created with the purpose of driving the transformation of the healthcare system through the integration of intelligent technologies, the analysis of large volumes of data, and the application of artificial intelligence. Its aim is to accelerate the development of PPM in Spain, fostering the training of health professionals in the ethical and responsible use of these tools, promoting research, innovation, and public-private collaboration at national and international levels.
