Last September 2008, the XIV Spanish Conference on Fuzzy Logic and Technologies (ESTYLF2008) was held in Langreo-Mieres, two cities in Asturias, Northern Spain, being organized by the European Centre for Soft Computing (ECSc). This special issue encompasses a selection of papers presented on the conference.
