José María Alonso Moral receives the Leonardo Research Award

The award ceremony will take place on 11 April in the auditorium of the ETSE, as part of the school's celebration events for the day.

CiTIUS researcher José María Alonso, a full professor at the USC School of Engineering (ETSE), has recently been honored with the Leonardo 2024 award. This prestigious recognition acknowledges him as one of the top three professors in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science in terms of scientific production.

The Leonardo prizes are bestowed annually at the ETSE in two categories: teaching and scientific production. They coincide with the birthday of the Renaissance polymath Leonardo da Vinci (15 April 1452). In the teaching category, the recognition is granted to the three teachers most highly esteemed in student surveys at the school, one for each of the degrees taught. Regarding research, the prize awarded to researcher José María Alonso is based on scientific production data accredited by the University of Santiago (USC). Similarly, three individuals are honored, one from each department affiliated with the ETSE.

The diploma presentation ceremony will be held as part of the ETSE Day celebration on Thursday, 11 April, a public event taking place in the Assembly Hall of the faculty starting from 12:30.
