Round table 11F: "From girls to researchers: the path of science"
The singular research centres of the University (RCSI-USC) are organising a joint round table next 11 February, coinciding with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
USC’s excellent research, within the framework of the Singular Science initiative and through its singular centres CiMUS, CiQUS, CiTIUS and IGFAE, once again reaches out to society to celebrate, together with educational centres throughout Galicia, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2021. In an online format, the activity aims to share the experiences of women researchers with different profiles and at different career stages, with the goal of promoting scientific vocations among young girls.
Women researchers at predoctoral and postdoctoral stages, group leaders and managers from the four singular centres of USC will share the key aspects, anecdotes and achievements of their careers, in order to spark an interest in science among girls and young women who may decide to orient their education towards different fields of science.
Chaired by the communications officer of the Galician Institute of High Energy Physics (IGFAE), Elena Mora, the round table will feature the participation of:
- Paula López, deputy director of CiTIUS
- María Giménez, principal investigator at CiQUS.
- Catarina Allegue Toscano, postdoctoral researcher at CiMUS.
- María José Gómez, predoctoral researcher at IGFAE.
This activity will take place from 10:00 on Thursday, 11 February, and can be followed live via videoconference.
Participation in the event is free of charge and requires registration through the online form provided by the organisers:
