'Unlimited possibilities': CiTIUS celebrates Inside the lab's eighth edition

Industry, public sector and organisations in general will meet again at CiTIUS next Friday 30 June to find out the latest technologies with which the USC research centre will try to attract their attention: a total of 10 top scientific demos (8 technologies and 2 spin-offs), ready to be transferred to companies and society. CiTIUS researchers will present them from a dynamic point of view, sharing some practical examples that will run in real time.

'Inside the lab', year 8: a nod to the future

In line with the historic moment in the field, CiTIUS has chosen this year the slogan 'unlimited possibilities' for Inside the lab's eighth edition. The idea is related to to the huge number of options that are open at present for the research community in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), encouraging the different agents in the sector to participate.

Among the smart technologies that will be shown along Inside the Lab 8, visitors will discover circuits and systems for AI, algorithms for calculating escape routes in forest fires, and different artificial vision techniques for analysing the quality of food products, as well as the latest results from two spin-off companies that have emerged directly from the centre's research: Situm Technologies and Inverbis Analytics.

Visitors will also get to know more about the first results of the Nós Project, the most important initiative ever developed in the area of Language Technologies for the Galician language. 'Inside the Lab 8' will show the operation of three tools: an automatic translator (the first one with neural technology developed for Galician from Galicia), a voice recognition system and a voice synthesiser (also based on Deep Learning).

The event will take place at CiTIUS' facilities on Friday 30 June 2023, from 10:00 to 14:00. To participate, the only requirement is to register in advance on the official website of the conference.
