David Chaves Fraga

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2015) and a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2016). In 2021, I completed my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the same university, supported by a predoctoral scholarship awarded in 2017. During my postdoctoral phase, I was granted the Margarita Salas Fellowship (2022), which included an international research internship at KU Leuven (Belgium). Since September 2023, I have been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Computing, specializing in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

My primary research focuses on large-scale semantic data integration and its applications across various domains, such as DevOps, public procurement, and transportation. I currently serve as co-chair of the W3C Knowledge Graph Construction Community Group and lead scientist for the European Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS). Additionally, since 2019, I have been part of the organizing committees for two academic workshop series: the International Workshop on Knowledge Graph Construction (co-located with the Extended Semantic Web Conference) and the International Workshop on Semantics and the Web for Transport (co-located with the SEMANTiCS conference). I am also a collaborating researcher with the Declarative Languages and Artificial Intelligence Group (DTAI) at KU Leuven.

I have published over 50 papers, many of which were indexed in the Web of Science or presented at key conferences in the Semantic Web domain, such as ISWC, ESWC, and ICWE. I regularly contribute to the scientific committees of conferences including ISWC, ESWC, WWW, SIGIR, and CIKM, and serve as a peer reviewer for several leading journals, such as the Semantic Web Journal, Journal of Web Semantics, Future Generation Computer Systems, and Knowledge and Information Systems.
