David Chaves Fraga

I obtained my bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2015) and then, I obtained a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence (2016) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. I hold my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2021) with the support of a predoctoral scholarship (2017). During my postdoctoral phase, I enjoyed a Margarita Salas postdoctoral fellowship (2022) and its corresponding international internship at KULeuven (Belgium). From September 2023, I am part of the Department of Electronics and Computing (area of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence) of the University of Santiago de Compostela as Assistant Professor.

My main line of research is focused on semantic data integration on the web at scale and its direct application in different domains (DevOps, public procurement, or transport). I am currently co-chairing the W3C Knowledge Graph Construction Community Group and I'm also the lead scientist for the European Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS). Since 2019, I am also part of the organizing committee of two academic workshop series: International Workshop on Knowledge Graph Construction (co-located with the Extended Semantic Web Conference) and International Workshop On Semantics And The Web For Transport (co-located with the SEMANTiCS conference). I am also a collaborating researcher at the Declarative Languages and Artificial Intelligence Group (DTAI) from KULeuven.

I published more than 50 articles, many of them indexed in the Web of Science or in proceedings of relevant conferences in the field of Semantic Web (e.g., ISWC, ESWC, ICWE). I participate in the scientific committees of conferences such as ISWC, ESWC, WWW, SIGIR, CIKM, etc. and I am a regular reviewer of indexed journals such as Semantic Web Journal, Journal of Web Semantics, Future Generation Computer Systems, Knowledge and Information Systems, among others.
