Fernando Rafael Pardo Seco

I have a PhD in Physics from the University of Santiago de Compostela since 2008. (2008). In the period 1999-2001 I worked at the Department of Electronics and Computing of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in the field of digital medical image processing. I got a FPU grant in 2002 to develop my doctoral thesis in the field of digital systems design for landmine detection. In 2006 I obtained an assistant professor position at the University of Valladolid in the Department of Electronic Technology. In 2011 I join the Area of Valorization, Transfer and Entrepreneurship at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, managing the portfolio of intellectual and industrial property in the areas of mathematics, physics, ICT and engineering and participate in tasks to support the creation of technology-based companies in these areas. In 2020 I obtained a position as Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science of the US and in 2023 I got a possition of Associate Professor.

Since my incorporation as assistant professor PhD in 2020 I started working in the line of computer vision and autonomous semiconductor devices. Focusing on the implementation of Deep Learning algorithms in FPGAs and the development of intelligent digital systems based on the hyperdimensional computing paradigm. I collaborate in the development of tasks in the framework of the European MISEL project.
