Lecture: 'Recent Advances in Remote Sensing Image Classification'

This talk will be focused on advanced methodologies for the classification of remote sensing images acquired by new generation satellite sensors for land-cover maps generation. Generation of land-cover maps is crucial for several different applications, e.g., urban area studies, forestry applications and crop monitoring. In this talk, a general overview on the critical problems related to classification of different types of remote sensing images will be initially discussed, and then the recent developments that can overcome the considered problems will be introduced.
