Last March, the American Statistical Association made a statement about the misuse of the p-value in experimental validation by the scientific community, advising against its use in most cases.

In this talk, we will review the traditional methodology of experimental validation in Computer Science, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses.

Additionally, we will introduce the alternatives to the p-value that are gaining traction and the existing tools that support their use.
