SmartLAK: A Big Data Architecture for Supporting Learning Analytics Services
In this paper, we present a big data-based software architecture that uses an Experience API ontology to semantically describe the data stream generated by the learners of a course. This ontology is also used to represent these data in a graph database which provides a high performance access to the learning analytics services that process the large amount of data generated in the VLE.
