2024 Industrial Doctorates
The Ministry of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training, through the Galician Innovation Agency and the General Secretariat for Universities, announced on 1 October 2024 the fourth edition of grants for Industrial Doctorates. This support will enable the hiring of 15 PhD students by Galician companies and innovation and technology centres to develop their doctoral thesis.
Objectives
- Promote the transfer of knowledge between universities and the business sector.
- Enhance the recruitment of research staff to develop a research project in Galician companies, allowing them to obtain an industrial doctorate.
- Facilitate the incorporation of young doctoral graduates into the business environment.
- Strengthen collaboration between companies, innovation and technology centres, and the universities of the Galician University System (SUG).
Specific requirements for candidates
- Be a national of a member state of the European Union. Non-EU citizens may also apply provided they have the necessary residence permits.
- Be enrolled or meet the requirements to enrol in an official doctoral programme at a university within the SUG, according to the academic regulations applicable for the 2023/2024 or 2024/2025 academic year.
- The completion date of previous studies must be within the last five years, with certain exceptions where it may be on or after 1 January 2017.
- Not hold a Doctoral degree.
