Job offer: PhD candidate in semiconductor devices
Job description
We are seeking an electronic/telecommunication engineer, a physicist, a material scientist or someone with a similar degree to join CITIUS in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In this role, you will design and characterize photovoltaic devices aimed for new generation of high efficiency power converters. The ideal candidate will have some experience in some of the following topics: semiconductor devices, basic electronics, optics, lasers and leds.
This position is supported by the Cátedra Televés en Microelectrónica of the Program Cátedras CHIP funded by the Secretaría de Estado de Telecomunicaciones e Infraestructuras Digitales (Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital). This PhD work will be developed in collaboration with our international project partners from Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU), Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet, SenSiC, Alminica AB, and with several space agencies and photovoltaic companies.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Physics, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or Materials Science, or similar degrees.
- Knowledge on semiconductor physics and electronic device physics.
- Computational skills are highly desirable.
- Good academic record.
- Great motivation for scientific work and ability for teamwork.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of ongoing tasks at the same time.
- Ability to devise, review, and deliver complex procedures, and work independently towards pre-defined goals, maintaining accuracy and precision in all areas of work.
- Proficient English.
