
Junior AI Engineer
CiTIUS is seeking highly motivated junior AI engineers with a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, who are interested in developing innovative AI solutions for the One Health domain.
Successful candidates will join 1HealthAI, one of the European AI Factories funded by EuroHPC, focused on accelerating the application of AI to the One Health domain. The project brings together expertise across human, animal, and environmental health, aiming to develop cutting-edge AI infrastructures and solutions with real-world societal impact.

- Supporting the full life-cycle of AI and data-driven models for One Health.

Desired Qualification and Skills
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in one or more of the following AI-related areas: machine learning, Health Data Engineering, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Models, Federated Learning, Trustworthy / Explainable AI, Big Data Analytics, Distributed or High-Performance Computing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Motivation to learn and contribute to innovative European research projects.
Previous experience in research projects, internships, open-source contributions, or AI-related developments, as well as a willingness to pursue a PhD at CiTIUS, will be positively valued.
What we Offer
- A 2.5-year full-time position within an internationally recognised AI research centre with the possibility of extension.
- Competitive gross annual salary up to €35,000.
