#WomenInTech | Carolina Pavez: 'Equity and Explainability in Clinical AI'

CiTIUS launches #WomenInTech, an initiative that highlights the work of our female researchers on the occasion of 11F (International Day of Women and Girls in Science).

In this interview, Carolina Pavez, a PhD student at CiTIUS, addresses one of the major current challenges of Artificial Intelligence applied to healthcare: algorithmic fairness.

Her research focuses on evaluating and mitigating bias in clinical prediction models, as well as developing explainability techniques adapted to medical practice. Her goal is to promote more transparent, fair, and reliable AI systems for different patient groups.

Responsible AI for more equitable medicine.
